Costume Description
A Superhero suit (based on the costume from season 2 of The Boys) made from Lycra and scuba.
The star print on the scuba is hand printed using and acetate template and flex ink. The belt and stars are made from foam and semi-flex resin. Faux leather gloves with elbow pad (made from waterlilly) and mesh stars.
A tailored Georgian suit made from a red Duchess satin. Covered in trimmings and dual buttons that I handmade with wooden rings. Crown and scepter are made from craft foam and foam clay.
The fabrics used within this piece were tulle, coutil, lace and white duchess satin for the underskirt , boning channels/cups and belt.
Experimenting with costume breakdown I applied a mixture of fabric paints and latex to the piece to create the blood/mud. Using a mixture of glycerine and red fabric paints on the chest to make the blood soak into the fabric.
This costume is based on a character from the video game Dark souls 3. To construct the outfit brown leatherette and cotton fabrics used. Furthermore the armour pieces (including the sword) being made from crafting foam and EVA foam.
The chainmail was crafted by knitting with large needles as this allowed for it to be more light weight and comfortable.
Created from Eva foam, clay and crafting I recreated the helmet and blades from the animated series Chainsaw. In order to create the chain, over 200 small foam pieces were sanded down and attached around the base surface.
To created the metallic effect a base coat of black was applied to it and the dry brushing with silver on top to finish.
Based on Arwen’s dress in The Lord of the Rings. Created from Cotton velvet and lined in silk. Double layered sleeves made from velvet and chiffon. Lace embellishments on the arms and silver trimmings hand sewn along the neckline and arms.
Based on the character Death from Darksiders. In order to get the details in the mask small lines were carved into the foam and heated with a heat gun, this made the foam expand widening the gap.
Moreover the paint used were Citadel paints in the colours of flayed one flesh, rhinox hide and abbaddon black. A base coat of flayed one flesh was appliedthen dry brushed with rhinox over the gaps and the corners (wiping away excess paint) creating a realistic bone colouring.
This mask was created with crafting foam and EVA foam. It is based on the character of Jhin from the blood moon skin from League of Legends.
During the process of making this mask a Dremel was used to create the smooth curves/edges to the features of the mask.
This dagger was commissioned for an outfit, based on the dagger from Once upon a time. For the main shape and structure garden wire was sandwiched between EVA foam, then sanded to create the smooth edge for the blade.
In order to create the engraving on the blade I soldered the text/pattern into thin crafting foam, which is then applied to the foam after.
All of the detailing from the faces to the handles were created with clay and foam clay for lightweight handling.
Based on the blades of the prime time skin of the character Draven from League Of Legends.
These two blades were made on commission with EVA foam and crafting from. Plastic handles and metal/plastic rods going through them for stability.
Furthermore a dry brushing brushing was applied to the blades for a weathered effect to be achieved.
Based on the character from league of legends, Draven. This piece was made on commission.
The materials used were brown, black, silver and green leatherette with an acrylic wash applied on top for weathering.
Other materials were a red cotton and foam clay to make the rings as they were lightweight for wear.
A commissioned prop for an upcoming convention. EVA foam and crafting foam were used with plastic rods that could screw into the handles for stability and easy travel.
When painting these blades a base coat of silver was applied then with a lighter colour (flayed one flesh) to line the patterns on the blades. From there black acrylic painted on to the blade with brown acrylic for the spikes.
A commission piece for the Old Wise Man from OSRS. made from a polyester linen, I pattern drafted and sewed the tunic and cape.
